Survival Toolkit for Liberals Starting January 20, 2025

Trump has been president for over 24 hours and guess what, the sun still rose and set, no one is coming to solve your problems, and you did not explode with all the hatred you felt. The truth is, it doesn't matter who is in the White House, your day to day life doesn't change because your candidate won or lost the election. Life will go on. This is something that Americans have lost sense of. So, just like the last four years where Trump supported couldn't stop whinning, the next four years are going to be the same, but with liebrals doing the whining. For those of you that are tired of this and just want to make through the next four years, here are 10 things you need to master:

1. Accept your candidate lost

   After 2020, we can no longer assume that this goes without saying. All the vitroil in this country began when the animosity after 2016 election results crossed the lines of civilty we had all been accustomed to. This is because that loss was hard to swallow. Many have yet to recover from that. Unfortunately, this created a cycle we now find ourselves victims of, denialism. Every side is doing it. The truth doesn't matter. Facts and logic are non-existent in this country. Feelings are what matters. Everyone feels they are right, facts be damned. You want to make it to Novemebr 2028, accept you lost and move on.

2. Be empathetic

   Yes, I don't think people in this country know what this feels like anymore. We have become hedonists. As long as our actions bring us the maximum pleasure we refuse to consider what someone else might be experiencing. We are extremely dismissive of each other. We have picked sides and refuse to compromise or change our positions even when presented with new facts. For a "In God we Trust" country we have completely forgot the teachings of Jesus; love your neighbour as you love thyself. Talking to each other is all consuming and a waste of time. Empathy breeds dialogue and understanding, this country needs these two things right now.

3. Mind your own business

   "How can I mind my own businees while a crazy man is the leader of the free world?" Well that's a good question, but it doesn't stop you from staying out of other people's business. Both can exist at the same time. This country wants to punish everyone that has wronged someone. You cannot go to the store in peace anymore. Not only do you have to be worreid about being shot, but you now have to worry about the other weapon that has been responsible for destroying people's lives; the phone camera. Everyone is a victim. Everyone wants to post a viral video on social media. I am not suggesting you walk away when you see someone in a situation that requires intervention, but most of the people recording these vidoes are not helping anyone. For them, it is more important to record the incident than to offer any help.

4. Read more than the headline

   I know buying a newspaper is not a thing anymore and we have to save our trees so, all we are left with is online news, social media posts and the embarrasment that is our mainstream media. I have to let you in on a secret, the headlines are supposed to catch your attentions so you can read more or tune in and listen to what is being said. The headline is not supposed to get you to react without being more infromed. But that is what is happening. We have become more dumber with each new social media app that is invented. Our attention span is now down to less than 25 seconds. No one cares bout details anymore. Yes, no one is going to care what else I wrote past the title. What have we become?

5. Stop watching CNN, MSNBC and all these podcasts that tell you your side is winning

   This is not going to help you. In fact you are going to become more polarized and will never be open to hearing another point of view. It's all propaganda. Learn to make up your own mind after being provided with information. Stop believing things are true based on who said them. It makes us all stupid. News is not supposed to be a commercialized product. Journalists are meant to inform their audience of the facts, then the audience forms their own opinions. Instead, we are being fed with opinions everywhere. Opinion is not news, and news is not entertainment, it's education. You are definitely not getting educated on the liberal networks. Expand your source of news and question all of it. Jyust because someone wrote it, it doesn't mean it's the truth.

6. Give Trump his due when he deserves it

   I know this is very hard, but even a broken clock is tright twice a day. So why can't Trump be? He is extremely controversial, that is his brand of politics, but he is still th eleader of the free world. And believe me the USA still is the leader of the free world. And when Trump was in power, many things went right in the world because of him. How it was achieved doesn't matter, it happened because of him, and it doesn't hurt to admit this.

7. Join a community outreach program

   You love your country so much, how about you start by being part of the community you live in. Find ways to reach others in your community, and dialogue with those who hold different views from yours. You want to change minds, get off twitter, not a single vote that swings elections is waiting to argue with you on social media. They are all trying to make it by in this tough economy. So get off the phone and start talking to your neighbours.

8. Stop listening to people that tell you what you want to hear

   People are no longer honest about their feelings. Liberals didn't want to admit Joe Biden was not capable of running again until they were embarrased on national televison when he didn't seem to know where he was. By the way, the same thing is going to happen to Trump and they will refuse to admit it too. But I digress. Stop only listening to people who share your opinions. Be courageous enough to sit down and listen to the other side. Not so you can rebutt their point but so you can have an understanding of where they are coming from. And have a meanigful conversation. We don't have to agree with each other, we just have to understand why people believe what they do.

9. Don't force your values on others

   Liberal are so focused on chaging the world to what they want it to be that they forget there are people who don't want to change their world. What turned off a lot of voters that usually went with democrats this past election, among other serious reasons, was the inabilty to understand that what matters to you doesn't matter to everyone and you must listen to what is important to poeple instead of assuming. Liberals swore up and down that majority of voters will care about abortion than immigration and economic issues. Boy, were they surprised! There is really no difference between the left and the right when it comes to this. The side with the more compelling issues won this time, but that will always be the case if you continued assuming the majority of the country sees things or should see things the way you do.

10. Eat your vegetables, exercise and drink water

    Lastly, please take care of yourself. As a country we are more obesed than we are healthy. That is going to cost us a lot of money in futere diasabilty and medicare costs. We cannot afford it as a country. So, if you don't care about the 9 things I listed above, you can be selfish and only care about this. the best way to saty winning through these next four years is by being healthy enough to outlive Trump and not allow any of the heartache you are definitely going to experience affect your health.
